Transfer from airport to hotel where our local guide will be waiting to provide you with the necessary information on your arrival. In the evening transfer to the Trastevere area. This neigborhood will be a great introduction to Rome, a stroll in the narrow cobbled streets of the Trastevere reveals hidden treasures to us, such as some modest mediaeval churches, small shops with the most peculiar of objects or scenes of daily life. Many trattorias (informal Italian eating establishments) and osterias (inns) imbued with the Italian spirit will be ready to serve you local dishes.
The morning starts with an interesting city tour of the “Eternal City”, in which we will visit the Caracalla Baths, Venice Square, Circo Massimo, the Capitoline Hill and St. John Lateran. We visit the tiny state of the Vatican. The Vatican City is a principal centre of Christianity in the world. You will be able to visit St. Peter’s Basilica. Admission to the Coliseum included. This building, which dates from the first century, was built for the purpose of organising entertainment for the Romans, such as gladiator combats. We have the chance to learn about the ancient society of the Roman Empire.
In the evening transfer to Via Cavour, which has many local restaurants and others that serve international cuisine, including Indian and Chinese.
In the morning depart for Florence, passing through the Tiber Valley. Our first contact with the Renaissance city is Piazzale Michelangelo, a viewpoint with marvellous views of the city. Don’t forget to take your camera! Walking tour with local guide, lasting two and a half hours. We visit the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vechio, Straw Market, Piazza Republica, Palacio Vecchio. Free afternoon to explore and visit the city’s historical markets and museums. Overnight at Florence.
Depart in the morning for Venice, passing through mountain scenery. Arrival at Tronchetto Gate where we take the boat and cross the Grand Canal to the Island of Venice. Comprehensive tour with a local guide to St. Mark’s Square and the interior of St, Mark’s Basilica (admission included). Visit to the Murano Glass Factory where we will see a demonstration of how this ancient glass is made. Afternoon is free. In the evening transfer to firm land and transfer to hotel.
We head for the Alps, with their mountains, lakes and valleys. Arrive at Verona, The Romeo and Juliet’s city, the “city of lovers”. Our guide will tell you the best way to visit this city, which has many interesting monuments: Bra Square, Roman Theatre dating from the 1st century, Erbe Square, Statue of Dante, Mediaeval Walls or the house of Juliet.
We continue towards Switzerland and the Alps. Lunch on the way. Arrival at the shores of Lake Zurich and free time to explore the monumental city centre. Visitors have a choice of Indian, Chinese, Italian and other restaurants in which to dine.
In the morning proceed for Interlaken with beautiful landscapes with high mountains and lakes on the way. Take a stroll trough Interlaken, a city that by the beginning of the 19th century had already become renowned for its impressive mountain scenery.
Follow to Grindenwald. Time to have a coffee in this mountain resort in the Bernese Alps before taking the cable car to Grindenwald First (ticket included), the largest ski center in the region. We will walk along the path (30 minutes) in which we will have the opportunity in breathtaking alpine landscapes to take the "footbridge over the emptiness" enjoying the glaciers that surround us.
In the afternoon leave for Lucerne. Arrival in time to explore one of the most interesting Swiss cities and see the KapellBrück, covered bridge over the river Reuss, the Town Hall and Square with its Clock Tower and its pedestrian streets and elegant shops.
Later return back to Zurich for overnight stay.
Arrive at Bern in the morning. Free time in the Swiss capital which has an attractive historical centre with the appearance of a “large village”. We will visit the Federal Council Square, the Cathedral and the Clock Tower, and see the city’s statues and fountains.
Proceed to Paris crossing the Free Country amidst beautiful scenery. After crossing the French border we will stop for lunch in a service area. Towards night we reach Paris. Check-in to your hotel and relax.
Proceed for a comprehensive tour of Paris with a local guide, visiting the Champs Elysees, Arch of Triumph, Concorde Square, Latin Quarter, Luxembourg Palace, Garnier Opera House, Louvre Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, Town Hall of Paris, Eiffel Tower, etc. Includes admission to the second floor of the Eiffel Tower in the lift.
The visit is followed by a spectacular cruise on the river Seine which divides the north of Paris from the south. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore as you choose.
At sunset enjoy the evening transfer to “Quartier Latin”, a very picturesque area of the historic centre where a wide variety of international cuisines await you.
We go to the centre of Paris, the area of the Louvre Museum. Free time to stroll in the city. If you wish, we can accompany you to Benlux, one of the most complete and best-known perfumeries in Paris.
After breakfast, check-out from your hotel. You will be transferred in time to catch your return flight back home.
